Topic: Seeking the Lord (3)
Text: Hebrews 11:6
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Seeking God and having faith in God are inseparable as seeking can’t be done effectively without having faith that your labour (seeking) will be worthwhile.
Believing strongly in God is the ladder that a seeker climbs on in order to attain the height of finding. Having assurance that God really does exist and can be found is the basic and foundational kind of faith every seekers should possess.
Finally, seeking God is a lifelong journey that requires commitment, humility, and perseverance. During the process of seeking Him, we can expect Him to deepen our understanding of Him, develop a stronger faith, and also experience transformation in our lives.
Lesson for the day:
There is a reward for those who seek the Lord.
Prayer Point:
Help me, Father, to seek You till the very end until I attain the great reward of your seekers.
Hymn for the day:
1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom
More of grace to know
Refrain:
O deep . . . er yet I pray . . .
And high . . . er every day
And wis . . . er blessed Lord
In thy precious holy word
2. Deeper, deeper! Blessed Holy Spirit
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus
And His perfect will
3. Deeper, deeper though it cost hard trails
Deeper let me go
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus
Let me fruitful grow
4. Deeper, higher everyday in Jesus
Till all conflict past
Finds me conqueror and in His own Image
Perfected at last
Bible round the year:
Exodus 24-27
