Topic: Seeking the Lord (1)
Text: Hosea 10:12
Hosea 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.
Seeking God means finding God, striving to know more about Him, showing deep interest in Him, and sustaining our relationship with Him. This can only be achieved by making all of these our pursuit continuously and a daily exercise.
Seeking God requires some spiritual exercises according to today’s text, there is a need to deposit righteousness, get back mercy as a gain, and to completely eradicate whatsoever that is not of God.
Seeking God does not have a time frame. It is for seekers who are ready to keep searching until they find Him. What is your pursuit this year? It isn’t really worth it if your primary aim is not to seek God, and it is never too late to refocus your plan.
Lesson for the day:
It is time to seek the Lord.
Prayer Point:
Help me, Father, to seek You now and always.
Hymn for the day:
1. Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.
2. Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.
3. Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine now it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.
Bible round the year:
